Sweetening Lives Together: The Hot Chocolate Run Officially Partners with Special Olympics

The 2023/2024 Hot Chocolate Run will support the mission of Special Olympics. We can all (run) stand together to help spread the transformative power and joy of sport and drive the social change that enables full participation for people with intellectual disabilities.

their story

Founded in 1968, Special Olympics is a global movement that unleashes the human spirit every day around the world through the transformative power and joy of sport.

Special Olympics works to end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities and fosters acceptance of all people through sport and programming in education, health, and leadership.

With more than six million athletes and Unified Sports partners, one million coaches and volunteers in over 200 accredited Programs, Special Olympics delivers more than 30 Olympic-style sports and over 100,000 games and competitions every year. Visit SpecialOlympics.org.

Donate Today

When you donate to Special Olympics, you’re helping to support over 30 Olympic-style individual and team sports to provide meaningful training and competition opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities ranging in age from 2 to 99! Special Olympics delivers high-quality training and competition in an inclusive culture through Unified Sports, which allows for people with and without intellectual disabilities to play on the same field.

This premise for all Special Olympics sports is strengthened from partnerships with International Sport Federations, social inclusion opportunities through Unified Schools, as well as opportunities to develop basic skills at age 2 through Young Athletes program.

We hope you’re inspired to join our mission as a runner, donor, and/or fundraiser for Special Olympics at the 2023/2024 Hot Chocolate Run! We need your help to create a more inclusive world for people of all abilities through the power of sport, education and leadership by supporting the mission of Special Olympics.
